Description

Chlorine granules are a popular and effective way to sanitize your hot tub water. Here’s a breakdown of what they are and why they’re important:

What are Chlorine Granules?

Chlorine granules are a dry form of chlorine, a chemical that’s widely used to disinfect water. When added to your hot tub, the granules dissolve quickly, releasing chlorine into the water. This chlorine then works to kill bacteria, algae, and other microorganisms that can make your hot tub water unhealthy or cloudy.

Why are Chlorine Granules Important?

  • Sanitation: Chlorine is a powerful disinfectant. It’s crucial for killing harmful bacteria and other germs that can thrive in warm hot tub water. Without proper sanitation, your hot tub could become a breeding ground for these unwanted guests.
  • Clear Water: Chlorine helps keep your hot tub water clear and sparkling by preventing the growth of algae and other organic matter that can cloud the water.
  • Safety: By effectively sanitizing the water, chlorine granules help ensure that your hot tub is a safe and healthy place to relax.

Instructions

  1. Maintain the pH balance between 7.4 – 7.6.
  2. Test the water with a chlorine test kit, the ideal reading for free chlorine is 2 – 3ppm.
  3. On start-up and commissioning of new water, use this product to shock dose the water to a minimum of 20 PPM with circulation / blowers on and all covers off.
  4. To increase to the free chlorine reading by 1ppm add 2g of Chlorine Granules per 1000lts of water.
  5. Spa Chlorine Granules can be added directly to the water with circulation running and water temperature above 20°C.
  6. Re-test for free chlorine on a daily basis and after bathing.
  7. It is recommended to add Non-Chlorine Shock on a weekly basis to help with the oxidisation process (reduction in contaminants).
